Hi Carla,
Few other printers are exhibiting this behaviour and we are working on
fixing it. In the meantime, the workaround is to modify the ppd file
(usually /etc/cups/ppd/<printer_queue_name>.ppd
You must have root (sudo) access to save this file.
Edit this file and move down to the InputSlot section (you will find it
under Paper Sources)
Change /MediaPosition 3 to /MediaPosition 7
Save the file
This should fix it (MediaPosition 7 sets the input tray to Automatic and
the printer will
pick the paper from whatever the printer default tray is).

Subject: [Hplip-help] HP 3050 won't print automatically

hello list,

I have a HP 3050 that works quite well, except every time I send it a
print job it won't print unless I hit the 'Enter' button on the printer
control panel. It beeps, and the message on the control panel is 'Manual
feed LETT press [/] to use'

In the Driver settings (both CUPS and hp-toolbox) there are two settings
for Tray 1:

Input slot Tray 1
Tray 1 (manual) false

So what do I do to make it print without having to hit the Enter key
every time?

thanks in advance,
Carla
