Hi Carla, Few other printers are exhibiting this behaviour and we are working on fixing it. In the meantime, the workaround is to modify the ppd file (usually /etc/cups/ppd/<printer_queue_name>.ppd You must have root (sudo) access to save this file. Edit this file and move down to the InputSlot section (you will find it under Paper Sources) Change /MediaPosition 3 to /MediaPosition 7 Save the file This should fix it (MediaPosition 7 sets the input tray to Automatic and the printer will pick the paper from whatever the printer default tray is). Raghu

It beeps, and the message on the control panel is 'Manual feed LETT press [/] to use' In the Driver settings (both CUPS and hp-toolbox) there are two settings for Tray 1: Input slot Tray 1 Tray 1 (manual) false So what do I do to make it print without having to hit the Enter key every time? thanks in advance, Carla -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carla Schroder Linux geek and random computer tamer check out my Linux Cookbook! http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/linuxckbk/ best book for sysadmins and power users ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
