Hello, I have a little problem with the "print density" setting on my LaserJet 1022n (connected to a router).
I've printed a page and noticed that text and lines (tables) are a bit too "thick/dark" when printed under Linux, but look fine when printed under Windows. From what I understand this can be changed by reducing the print density to a lower value. I had a look at the current print density value by using my web browser and typing in the IP address of my printer: it was set to 5, so I reduced it to 3 and tried printing the same page again. Nothing changed. I went back to check the setting and it was back at 5. I set it to 3 again and tried a couple more times. But everytime it goes back to 5. So I looked at the Print Settings of hp-toolbox, I played around a bit with "Printout mode" and "Quality" but no matter what I do the density setting is back to 5 after I print a page (and the page itself gets printed with a setting of 5). In Windows the setting can be changed on the property page of the printer, but I didn't find any such option in hp-toolbox. So my question is this: How can I "force" the printer to print at a density of 3? Thanks in advance, Michele. P.S. I'm using hplip-2.7.6 and hplip-hpijs-2.7.6 rpms from Packman on opensuse 10.2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
