My distro: Ubuntu 7.10 beta 1 My printer: Deskjet 6988
This printer has an auto-off (low power) mode. The printer manual shows how to enable this mode in Windows. My questions are: 1) Is there some way to enable auto-off in HPLIP? 2) Is there some way to determine when the printer goes into low power mode? For example, does the printer power light blink or go out when the printer goes into low power mode? As an aside, I dual boot with Windows, and I have enabled the auto-off feature in the Windows driver, but the printer does not seem to go into low-power mode (at least as far as I can ascertain).
