I need to buy an all-in-one for use at home and require printing, scanning,
copying plus an ethernet port. A fax would be nice but isn't essential. The
main requirement is that the device must work properly under HPLIP.
It appears the following two devices are the best two matches within my
budget:
Photosmart c5180 (approx £110)
Officejet 7310 (approx £124)
Spec seems near identical other than the 7310 having a fax, but I've noticed
that "Copy" is listed as "No" for that device at
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/supported_devices/inkjet_aio.html. This would
seem to imply that the c5180 is better supported.
Could anyone using either of these devices with HPLIP comment on their
experiences to date, or suggest a better supported device as an alternative?
