I did some testing with gists... I don't think they're going to be a viable option. They can be created anonymously but not edited anonymously. The only way for multiple people to edit a gist is by creating a fork. However, in working on this, it does appear that a regular github repository (with a markdown file for the shownotes) There are a few limitations, but it's at least a viable option. Here's how it would work:
1) someone with a github account is chosen to "host" the shownotes 2) that person can add other github accounts as collaborators 3) in the event that the primary account holder becomes unavailable, the repo can be forked to a new "hosting" account and updated there 4) the downside to this is that normal repo files can't be natively embedded using github's api... would need to use something like http://gist-it.appspot.com/ So all in all, I think etherpad is probably the best approach, but github could work in an emergency. _______________________________________________ Hpr mailing list [email protected] http://hackerpublicradio.org/mailman/listinfo/hpr_hackerpublicradio.org
