Hello Spaceman, Have you ever said 'Scotch tape' when you've been using Sellotape or a sticky clear tape of some other brand?
Have you ever said 'Biro' to refer to a ball point pen of another brand? Do you ever say Hoover when you really mean 'vacuum cleaner'? Do you say 'Xerox' when you mean photocpier, possibly made by Canon or some make other than Xerox? I suspect the answer to at least one of those questions is a resounding yes.
