Hi All,
I appreciate Dave Morriss has been working with everyone to get good
shownotes so please keep doing this.
It is important to provide good show notes for reasons described on the
/Picking a slot for your show/
<https://hackerpublicradio.org/about.html#requesting_slot> page:
* They provide the listeners with more information on the topic your
show is covering
* They ensure your show gets posted on time (the volunteers don't have
to make notes for you)
* They encourage people to download your show
* They allow your show to be indexed by search engines
* They make your show accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing
The shownotes should be at a minimum give the person listening an idea
of what your show is about.
If you don't add it, someone else will do it. This is not ideal
* We are volunteers and each time we do this it takes at least 30
minutes ignoring the time to listen to your show in the first place.
* We can only do this after your show is released as we are a
community of peers, and the dmca, we are not allowed to "listen"
(scrob/scan yes) to the show before we post them.
* You know better than me what you talked about.
The only option now for shownotes formatting is in *html *using the
*W*hat *Y*ou *S*ee *I* *W*hat *Y*ou *G*et editor.
I'm writing this as, so far every show has been posted with
markdown/test layout/html, so we need to make is clearer that the editor
is there. Pull requests welcome
<https://repo.anhonesthost.net/HPR/hpr_hub/src/branch/main/hub/upload.php>.
When you edit them have it look like you want it to be on the website.
If it looks like markdown - that's wrong.
[WYSIWYG](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG) change it to WYSIWYG
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG>
If the links are not blue - that's wrong.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG change it to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG
If you see html tags - that's wrong.
<p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG">WYSIWYG</a></p>
change it to WYSIWYG <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WYSIWYG>
I'll fix them now but there are so many I'm not going to communicate it
directly to the host any more.
