"The Tradition" of releasing music openly into the public domain is compatible
with our free software licensing.
The shows are teaching and passing off the skills to other listeners, so it
ticks the box of "dedicated to sharing knowledge"
If they were instructional, I would agree (and encourage more of the same).
But there are some shows that are simply presentations of music without any
instructional leaning.
Hackers have a long history of making instruments, circuit bending, any of
jezras creations, etc.
I agree and have no problem with these. My only concern was presenting "music
for music's sake", with no intent of instructional content, or presentation of
novel ideas or original research. I suppose the series "All Songs Considered"
best illustrates this, as I have found them to be "here's my favorite songs"
and that's it.
There is no requirement for you to like the shows, that's why you have the
delete key on your keyboard, but I'd argue those shows do indeed fulfill the
overall HPR mission.
If music-only or performance-only pieces are permitted, then there is no
policy violation here. I will refrain from commenting on these further.
