Hello,
?
my name is Piotr Mikolajczyk and I am currently studying Theoretical Computer
Science at Jagiellonian Univeristy in Cracow, Poland
(http://www.tcs.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/). It is now my third year of Bachelor Degree
and one of my course is about contributing to an open source project for up to
2 semesters.
?
I would like to ask you whether there is a chance for me to be involved into
some more algorithmic/theoretical issues? I have already completed a few
algorithmic and mathematic courses as well as programming (C++ in particular)
and parallel computing (mainly CUDA) courses. Now I am attending classes on
distributed systems.
Although I have gained some experience in real IT world (summer internships), I
have never had an opportunity to contribute to an open source project and it is
my another motivation for getting familiar with this subject.
I would be extremely excited to be given a chance to help create or improve
some solutions in HPX.
Please let me know about the opportunities of collaboration ? I will be very
grateful.
Best regards
?Piotr Miko?ajczyk

Hi Piotr,

Welcome! Adding more theory to the project sounds awesome! I think the best
way to move forward is for you to join our IRC channel (#ste||ar-group on
freenode) to have a more interactive way to discuss certain topics. I am
looking forward to your contributions!

Regards,
Thomas

Piotr,

Welcome! Just a correction: the IRC channel is named #ste||ar (at FreeNode).

You might want to browse the project ideas (we collect those mainly for GSoC,
but also for new interested people) here:
https://github.com/STEllAR-GROUP/hpx/wiki/GSoC-2018-Project-Ideas. Any other
ideas you might have are fine as well, let?s discuss things!

Regards Hartmut
