Dear colleagues,

HPC-Europa3: EC-funded research visits using High Performance Computing.

    http://www.hpc-europa.eu/
The HPC-Europa3 team is excited to announce that our Transnational
Access research visit programme is back!
It successfully started into its 3rd edition in May 2017 and will now
last for 4 years.
HPC-Europa3 aims to foster the transnational cooperation between
scientists of EU countries (especially junior researchers) who deal with
HPC-related topics such as applications, tools, and middleware.
Therefore, grants for travelling and residing in one of the 9
participating HPC centers will be offered on the application-basis.
Applications regarding travelling grants to CINECA in Italy, EPCC in the
UK, BSC in Spain, HLRS in Germany, SurfSARA in the Netherlands, CSC in
Finland, GRNET in Greece, KTH in Sweden, and CNRS in France can be
submitted to one of 15 calls, to be announced every quarter of a year.

Questions? Please find some key information about HPC-Europa3 below.

- What is supported?
Visit of a foreign organization (host) located in one of the
countries of the participating HPC centers for a duration of 3-13 weeks
with the goal of strengthening the cooperation in HPC-related
activities. Also, HPC centers can apply for hosting activities.

- What is paid?
HPC-Europa pays travel and living costs.

- Who can apply?
As a visitor: Any researcher from the EU and associated countries [2]
including the undergraduate students with a well-established research
topic related to HPC. The priority is set to junior researchers with a
limited access to HPC in their home countries.
As a host: Any research organization (usually a university)
interested in cooperation with talented young researchers from foreign
countries.
- How can I apply?
As a visitor: HPC-Europa will announce regular calls for applications
(usually 4 times a year) for which a short application should be
submitted. The applications are validated by the Technical and
Scientific Boards of the HPC-Europa3 project, which include leading
academicals and industrial experts in HPC. To be up to date on the calls
and other news from HPC-Europa, please apply to the mailing list [3].
As a host: At any time on the website [1].

- When is the first call?
The first call for applications is now open with the closing date on
7 September 2017 (at 12:00PM CEST). The visits of the approved
applications can start already in November 2017. We plan to inform
applicants of the results before the end of October.

- When are future closing dates?
Future closing dates will be held every 3 months, and the HPC-Europa3
programme continues until April 2021.

- How can I support HPC-Europa?
Please forward this e-mail to your contacts (project partners,
colleagues, friends)

- How can I ask for help?
For any information regarding HPC-Europa please contact our
responsible HLRS staff at: [email protected]

We will be glad to answer your questions and assist you with the
