*SR. Software Engineer/Database Development*
*Description:*
Primary responsibilities will include requirements analysis, data modeling,
Database designs using best practices.  This lead role expects extensive
Oracle experience in areas of OLTP, DSS, DW and Data Marts.
Responsibilities will include implementation of the best practices and
standards; and interfacing with offshore teams to make sure that they are
set up for success.

*Database Requirements Analysis*
• Responsible to understanding, articulating, documenting and presenting DB
requirements (both business and technical) on the assigned projects
• Interact with DB, Applications analysts and Business users for
requirements gathering and validation
• Analyze current data to ensure no requirements are missed
• Work with quality assurance team to build test plans to validate that new
systems meet the business requirements
• Ensure that requirements are understood and handed off to the development
teams
• Provide support to DB development teams on requirements related issues
*Database Modeling*
• Prepare DB logical and physical models based on requirements
• Review and obtain sign off on data models from architecture and other
supporting organization
*Database Design*
• Apply best practices to come up with DB designs to meet or exceed
business needs.  Including but not limited to physical databases, schemas,
table structures, indices, data marts, program structure, batch processing,
performance, etc.
• Review and obtain approvals on designs through database design review
boards
• Document designs and knowledge transfer to development team
• Help optimize designs as production issues arise
Project,  relationship and communication management
• Manage status reporting and problem escalation to  project and database
technology stakeholders where appropriate
• Identify risks, create risk management / mitigation / transfer plans and
implement plans to contain risk

*Qualifications*
*Education and Experience:*
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MS preferred
• 10+ years experience in a large technology organization specialization on
Database development
• Must have played a lead role in large database development projects
• Cross functional experience with application and batch process designs
• Experience with Oracle Database 10g and higher with PL/SQL Expertise

*Skills and Knowledge*:
Strong communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to
interface with multiple levels as well as building productive working
relationship in a metrix organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to challenge status quo in a respectful manner
Objectively listen, evaluate, and help others to see the way forward
 Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
 Strong technical background in database and some experience with
application designs
Ability to quickly synthesize ideas, options, and thoughts into solutions
to management to aid in decision making
 Highly motivated and energetic; able to juggle multiple priorities
concurrently
 Strong Data and Requirements analysis skills
Strong data modeling and DB normalization skills including OLTP and DW
Minimum 5+ ( 10 years desired) years of hand on development experience in
the following areas
o Oracle PL/SQL
o Informatica
o PERL
o Unix
o Autosys
