This position will be part of Digimarc IT and responsible for the ongoing maintenance, growth and development of a large scale distributed infrastructure running primarily on Linux. The senior system engineer will work on server farm deployed in both co-lo data center and also in the cloud. The job function includes rolling out new systems, maintaining, upgrading, replacing, and improving the long-term performance of the systems as well as supporting networking equipment and configurations. In addition, the system engineer will assist in supporting the office network as needed. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSBILTIES:* - Apache and Tomcat web servers management - Server administration skills using (but not limited to) puppet, DRBD, Icinga, Hyper-V, VMware (virtual systems) - Knowledge of load balancers and web Squid proxies - Knowledge of common protocols such as SMTP, POP, IMAP, VPN, DNS, FTP and HTTP - Knowledge of AWS Administration is a plus - Hands on Apache and Tomcat web servers management - Hands on Linux/UNIX systems administration experience for CentOS 5,6 - System and Network monitoring experience using SolarWinds/Nagios/Icinga or equivalence - Perl shell scripting experience - DRBD implementation is a plus - Experience supporting 24/7 high availability production services - 5+ years of System and Network Administration a minimum - Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) - Certifications in system management and networking (E.g.
