Release Engineering Manager Role Location: Pleasanton, CA Duration: 12+ month contract minimum Interview Process: Phone to F2F *Location* · Primary: Pleasanton, CA · May have to visit facility in Vacaville, CA on a need basis. *Job Description: *This contract position is to be part of the Network Operations management group as a Release Engineering Manager. The Manager of Release Engineering will be responsible for managing all internally developed application deliveries through the SDLC process. Working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment, the Manager of Release Engineering will work closely with Development, Testing, Infrastructure and Operations teams and ensure products are build and deployed on time with efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. This position requires a dynamic, hard-working and ambitious individual that excels at multi-tasking and has the ability to ramp up quickly in a dynamic, high-tech environment. Candidates for this position must be able to, from day one, roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running, and bring their experience to the team to make the project deployments much smoother. *Job Duties / Responsibilities:* - Manage code submission, build and deploy in managed pre-production environments and coordinate deployment in restricted production environment. - Develop procedures and policies to ensure proper submission of code for all in house developed applications. - Publish procedural documentation once processes and policies are defined - Responsible for ensuring software configuration integrity of all pre-production environments. - Manage and resolve all issues related to build, release and deployment. - Develop post mortem analysis to help improve the quality of build and deployments. - Actively participate in program and process development with DBAs, cloud engineering, development and testing. - Advocate best SDLC best practices and implementing for the operational efficiency. - Coordinate environment build and software release processes across technical teams - Improve efficiency of existing technical processes through automation of work (for example, writing scripts for repetitive tasks) - Drive the resolution of build/infrastructure failures - Design, develop, implement and maintain automation infrastructure to provide continuous, integration, nightly, milestone, and release builds - Reviewing source code application for proper code deployment using tools such as Clearcase and TFS2012. - Working with development, testing and business analyst teams to ensure updates are completed and changes are scheduled and deployed on time - Develop, implement and enforce Software Configuration Management (SCM) documentation standard. *Required Experience* · Proven track record of employee development for a team of 15 - 20 employees. · Experience in supporting .NET and Java based application development teams a must. · Experience with software development lifecycle support and familiarity with audit controls and tracking changes to software applications · Proven contribution in enhancements to standard operating procedures and tools to improve efficiency and scalability. · Must have Change and Configuration Management experience · Experience managing multiple controlled environments. *Technical Skills* - Must be able to quickly grasp technical concepts as explained by developers, support teams, operations, and quality assurance. - Proven analytics and reporting skills (data mining, excel reporting, analysis, presentation development). - Strong knowledge of release tools for automation - Plan and lead production deployments - Strong knowledge of software development and release processes - Strong knowledge of code migration services and the ability to implement code packaging and deployment procedures is required - Thorough understanding of platform technology and code release requirements to identify and address potential build/package/deploy related issues. *Preferred Skills* - Though not required to perform in this capacity, the person must have had hands on experience in automating the Release process, Implement and advocate build/release and configuration management standards and conventions based on Industry best practices - Knowledge of CI tools like Jenkins, Hudson, CruiseControl will be an advantage. - Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl, vbscript and Python - Expertise with source-control systems like Clearcase and TFS. *Professional Skills* - Candidates must demonstrate superb leadership and decision making skills, applying advanced principles, theories, and concepts to independently solve complex problems through highly creative solutions. - Proven track record of leading teams to successfully deliver on multiple projects and programs simultaneously, building appropriate processes and tools, delivering results. - Strong writing and verbal communication skills with previous team management is a must. - Attention to detail, organized, disciplined with process and policy focus. - Excellent inter-personal skills - must be able to adapt working style to the personalities and work styles of our partners. *Qualifications and Certifications* *· **Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, IT, or similar disciplines).* - At least 10 years in Release Engineering and Release Management -- *Please send resumes to [email protected]* *Thanks & Regards* Praveen Kumar Technical Recruiter | Addon Technologies | Website: www.addonusa.com phone: 734-956-4737 ext-168 | Fax: 734-418-2603 | email: *[email protected]* <[email protected]>| N .
