Net) Duration: 1 year - Potential Extension / FTE Conversion Location: Foster City, CA Mandatory-Web services (Hands-on Development ) and API frameworks (either of Layer 7, APIGEE or Intel MASHREY) Description Visa Developer Platform (VDP) is an exciting new initiative with an ambitious objective to consolidate multiple partner and developer facing assets across Visa into a common platform in order to simplify partner connectivity, decrease integration costs, and accelerate the pace of collaboration and innovation across Visa payments ecosystem. The Developer Platform team provides the standards, subject matter expertise, and technology framework that enable Visa to efficiently package its core and value-added products into consumable services and then deliver them reliably and securely to a global developer community. Sr. Software Engineer - API Developer As a Senior Software Engineer with the API Management team, you will design, build, and publish APIs to connect a global community of developers from some of the largest banks, merchants and strategic partners to the Visa Payment Network and eco-system. You will work closely with Product Management, Architecture and other engineering teams with Visa to rapidly transform and grow our API catalog. Responsibilities: . Design and develop web service API's and core functionality to allow third-party developers to more easily integrate applications with Visa products. Develop high-quality, ship-ready code with unit tests. Work with Product Management and other developers to understand and translate marketing requirements into design requirements and provide estimates for development. You must want to be involved with the design, not just code to a spec. Work as part of a cross-site development team to drive design, implementation, testing and release of products. Qualifications: BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related degree 5+ years of development experience in web-related technologies such as Web Services, REST, SOAP, WCF, ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and XML. Experience defining and developing web service API's. Experience in integrating with web-based products. Experiences with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release. Working experience with an industry standard API Gateway technology such as Layer 7, APIGEE or Intel MASHREY is a plus Experience with Agile and Test-driven development methodologies A passion to learn new software technologies. Experience in a Banking, Financial Services or Payments industry a plus Must Have: 5+ years of development experience in web-related technologies such as Web Services, REST, SOAP, WCF, ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, and XML. Experience defining and developing web service API's. Experience with Agile and Test-driven development methodologies.
