*P : Java Architect * *L: Boston, MA * *D: 6m+* *Job Description:* *Domain experience* · *3 years of experience in Insurance domain * · Understanding of Insurance ecosystem ; Brokers, Insurer, Reinsurer, Administrators · Experience in implementing applications for underwriting process Risk Management, Pricing and Engineering, · Experience in the area of Enterprise Risk Management is preferred *Architecture Experience* · Experience in defining and implementing Technical Architecture in Java/J2EE based applications · Proficient in creating technical documents like Architecture views, Technology Architecture blueprint and design specification · Experience in co-ordinating in infrastructure teams and creating infrastructure views of the architecture · Experience in SOA definition and realization is desired · Experience in working with data science / R&D team in business · Experience in specialized technologies such as Pitney Bowese Spectrum · Follows technology trends and is able to correlate them with business *Technology & Engineering Expertise* · 5+ years of hands-on experience J2EE area such IBM Websphere Application Server, IBM ESB/WPS · Strong experience in at least one RDBMS (Oracle | DB2 | MySQL) · Experience in BIG Data or Analytics technologies is preferred (ex: Hadoop, Rev R, Python) · Experience using any Data Quality tools such as IBM QualityStage, Pitney Bowes Sprectrum is preferred · Proficient in UNIX/Linux environments · Experience in Data Modeling Tools such as ERWIN is desired *Soft skills* · Able to deal with a diverse set of stakeholders and facilitate workshops · Proficient in articulation, communication and presentation · High integrity · Problem solving skills & learning attitude · Team player *Key Responsibilities* · Define and own Technical Architecture from definition phase to go-live phase · Ensure clarity on NFR and address these requirements during Architecture definition phase& make sure these are realized during engineering phase · Adopt a consulting led approach and become a trusted advisor to customers · Define Logical, Technical & Physical views of Architecture · Define reusable components/frameworks, common schemas, standards to be used & tools to be used and help bootstrap the engineering team · Work closely with offshore team and drive all engineering activities · Review design to make sure the design is aligned with Architecture · Lead performance engineering and capacity planning exercises · Help PM in identifying key technical risks and mitigation plan for the same · Help PM in effort estimation and planning · Mentor & guide Tech Leads & Software Engineers *Experience: 10 – 12 years* *Education: Bachelor of engineering in any discipline.
