*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
- Provide leadership for software application and module design and
coding to software development teams developing complex software and
services using Big Data platforms. Leadership may also extend to
applications using advanced analytic tools and technologies.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior members of the
Big Data development team.
- Manage and deliver the necessary solutions, software modules and code
for assigned projects.
- Instantiate systems and code modules from architecture and business
modeling standards for the company including class diagrams, data models,
business domain models, sequence diagrams, use case models, collaboration
diagrams
- Maintain UML model repository for applications in scope
- Develop and lead development efforts for projects using Agile/Scrum
based methodologies
- Guide development of test cases and scenarios for critical
applications and assist in review of software quality assurance deliverables
- Assist in driving defect and root cause analysis for software defects
and interfaces.
- Improves Big Data solutions by tracking emerging technologies
- Architect solutions in AWS based cloud based deployments of big data
platforms
*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:*
*MINIMUM EDUCATION:*
· Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science.
* MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:*
• A hands on computer scientists at heart with a total 8+
Years’ experience of Software Development
• Minimum 3 solid experience in Big Data technologies such as
Hadoop (Amazon EMR distribution), Spark, Hbase, Cassandra, AWS databases
(Redshift, Dynamo, EMR), VoltDB, Kinesis/Kafka etc.
• Minimum 3 years' experience working with Map/Reduce, HIVE,
PIG, Python, Scala, Java
• Minimum 3 years' experience working in at least one
Application Server (such as Tomcat, WebLogic, Jetty, WebSphere)
• Must have experience architecting solutions in AWS based
cloud deployments of big data platforms
• Should have advanced level understanding of Spring Framework
- Should have knowledge and understanding of OOAD (UML) constructs/language
(Class Diagram, Sequence Diagram etc.) and
Java/J2EE design patterns.
• Should have understanding of messaging technology (JMS or
other messaging technologies) - Experience with established software
development methodologies, including Agile (Scrum) -
Experience and knowledge in various data interchange and
representation formats such as JSON, XML
• Lead Root Cause Analysis on production software defects and
solution or drive necessary remediation of those defects.
• Highly desirable - Experience working in the Hotel, Travel
and Hospitality industry
• Highly desirable – Work experience developing “customer 360”
type solutions and Big Data analytic solutions
