*Job Title : SQL Server Developer*
*Location: Pleasanton, CA*
*Duration : **6+ Months Contract*
*Rate : $55/hr on C2C max*

*Job Description*
The SQL Server Developer shall support the Data Management team.  The
consultant will provide professional services for development of User
Interface and dashboards for various projects to support the long term IT
strategy and planning.

State Fund, at their discretion, can utilize Consultant resource in any
capacity to meet the needs of State Fund.  Consultant resources may be
assigned by State Fund to lead teams, work independently, work on teams
lead by State Fund, Consultant resources or, teams lead by other consulting
firms.

*Tasks:*
The tasks for the SQL Server Developer include, but are not limited to, the
following:
•Create detail technical design specifications, use cases and work closely
with the SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to deploy solution from design to
user acceptance
•Work closely with development architect, development team, quality
assurance to translate business requirements and assure quality of delivery
•Design interfaces, define integration workflows and prototype solutions
•Plan for project milestones, and be accountable for delivery of projects
within schedules
•Provide advice/recommendations on SQL Server architecture, design and
implementation
•Facilitate collaboration among technical team members and business
leadership
•Gather requirements and develop project deliverable documentation
•Perform trouble shooting on issues as required, also provide application
maintenance and support as needed
•Lead project development as required.
•Provide training, documentation for knowledge transfer to other SQL Server
application support team members, and communicate both to non-technical
users and to technical personnel on application related issues

*Technical Knowledge and Skills:*
Consultant resources shall possess most of the following technical
knowledge and experience:
•Working knowledge of SQL Databases like Oracle, SQL Server
•Minimum 5 years of working experience in developing database projects
using SQL Server 2008/2012/2014
•Minimum 5 years of working development experience in SSRS and SSIS.
•Hands-on SQL programming skills such as writing stored procedures, views,
triggers, cursors, sub queries, user defined functions etc.
•Working knowledge of database design, data architecture, and well versed
with SQL Server best practices
•Working experience and knowledge of execution plan for tuning database
•Working experience in performance tuning especially tuning complex
queries, procedure and indexing strategies
•Working experience with test driven development and Agile methodologies,
as well as Waterfall project life cycle
•Experience in software install and configuration
•Good understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, API, caching
layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system.


*Demonstrable Skills:*
The Consultant resource(s) shall possess most of the following skills:
•Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information and
identify and formulate solutions to problems.
•In-depth analysis with a high-level view of goals and end deliverables.
•Ability to complete work within a reasonable time frame under the
supervision of a manager or team lead.
•Ability to plan and manage all aspects of the support function.
•Extensive knowledge of and proven experience with data processing systems,
and methods of developing, testing and moving solutions to implementation.
•Strong knowledge in project management practices and ability to document
processes and procedures as needed.
•Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
•Proven experience in participation on complex projects through their
complete lifecycles (requirements, design, development, and launch).
•Ability to work collaboratively with other support team members and
independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision
•Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels, from data
entry technicians up to senior management, verbally and in writing.
•Self-motivated, working closely and actively communicating with team
members to accomplish time critical tasks and deliverables
•As questions and share information gained with other support team members,
recording and documenting this knowledge
•Ability to elicit and gather user requirements and/or problem description
information, and record this information accurately
•Ability to listen carefully and act upon user requirements
•Ability to convey and explain complex problems and solutions in an
understandable language to both technical and non-technical persons
•Ability to present technical solutions to management and decision makers
•Ability to follow the lead of others on assigned projects as well as take
the lead when deemed appropriate
•Ability to think creatively and critically, analyzing complex problems,
weighing multiple solutions, and carefully selecting solutions appropriate
to the business needs, project scope, and available resources
•Being responsibility for the integrity of the solution
