Today, fredt, our Lead Developer posted the following to the Release Candidate Forum:
QUOTE: I am pleased to report that the release candidate is on its way with a number of sought-after features and improved robustness. Since the last announcement, we have been improving the code and consolidating with Bob Preston's updates. These updates not only include configurable caches and support for TEMP tables, they also catch a number of potential error conditions that had been overlooked from the days of version 1.4x. Campbell Boucher-Burnet contributed to this effort with updates to speed up statement parsing. On my part, I managed to finalise support for ON DELETE CASCASE for foreign keys. Among us, we have gone a long way in improving the code. We are looking forward to the preview release and your response to improve it even further. ENDQUOTE Thanks to fredt, boucherb, sqlbob and all the other testers, coders, assorted trolls, groupies, gurus and hangers-on...it's been 5 months in the making...code should be up within 12 - 18 hours. Announcement here as soon as its available. Meanwhile, to do humble obeisance or outright grovelling to the masters of the code, do so here: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=647555&forum_id=98096 A final note, we will need many voluteers/testers on all supported Java platforms and for all JVMs we support (including versions 1.1.x through 1.4.x; compilers including jikes, etc.)...so watch for the call for help! dedmike _______________________________________________ hsqldb-developers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hsqldb-developers
