Although RC3 was meant to be the final Release Candidate for version 1.7.1,
two new developments resulted in this new RC.

New Linux and Unix script files are actively being developed and getting
near completion. We will have to wait for another week until these can be
included with 1.7.1.

The ongoing development work on 1.7.2 progressed in the important area of
memory usage to the extent that the this work can be released. RC4 features
up to 30% less memory usage for MEMORY tables.

The savings are the result of refactoring Row and Node classes into
specialised classes for different types of table storage. Fields that were
redundant in each type were eliminated.

The RC3 package will remain in the file download section so that users can
run comparative tests. No new bugs were reported against RC3, so apart from
memory optimisation, there is no other change to the codebase.

Please test and report any problem.
