I think it should say C:\server.properties (on windows)

and, BTW, this happens only on W2K, on NT4 with Netbeans3.5 it says
[C:\Programme\NetBeans IDE 3.5\server]
and this is right for me

is this really true? I get only up to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: [Thread[listener,5,[EMAIL PROTECTED]: checkRunning() exited
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: [Thread[listener,5,[EMAIL PROTECTED]: handleConnection()
exited
and than logging stops

in logging I have port and localport, localport is 9001 (so this is from
server.properties)
but what comes port from? what happens if a port is already in use?

and where is this switched:
starting the server says
 Got server socket: ServerSocket[addr=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,port=0,localport=9001]

by connect tracing say:
handleConnection(Socket[addr=/127.0.0.1,port=1528,localport=9001])

it seems like here the ip-address is missing and only a netmask is given
