"End of Life" JDK's have regularly been revived as new
platforms for small devices. Also, on some platforms, there are still issues
with "current" versions, so the "End of Life" versions have to be used. As
a result, we have established the following policy over the last couple of
years.
HSQLDB engine and DatabaseManager to run on all
official JRE's since 1.1.
Other tools to run on all official JRE's since
1.3.
We will not be predicting any date for changing this
policy.

Subject: [Hsqldb-developers] 1.3.1 and
1.4.1 End of Life question
Hello All..
Since Sun's 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 have reached "End of
Life". And 1.4.2 is the first supported older release.
Why does HSQLDB have to support these
JDK's? Well I guess since the answer is obvious, for
developers, my next question is: What is the policy for when HSQLDB stops
supporting Sun's "End of Life" JDK's?
Thanks in
Advance... IchBin __________________________________________________________________________
