Sent: 03 March 2005 12:11 Subject: 1.8.0 RC9 and HSQLDB / OOo appeal The latest RC9 is available from the file download page. This RC fixes a number of bugs (some significant) and extends type conversion and range checking to DECIMAL(p,s) and NUMERIC(p,s) types. As a result, precision and scale is enforced and maintained automatically by the engine. The development of this RC was funded by contributions from OOo users. The appeal for funds to cover development for 10 weeks was launched just over two weeks ago and has so far raised funds for about 3.5 weeks. If necessary funds for the full 10 weeks are raised, the final release of 1.8.0 will have a much improved range of features that will benefit all users of HSQLDB.
