All the documentation for the latest version of ht://Dig (3.1.6) is available on the http://www.htdig.org/ web site. The documentation for your version is available in the "htdoc/" subdirectory of your ht://Dig source tree, if you still have that available. If you don't have the source, you can still run "htdig -\?" to get an indication of the version you're running. If you're running an older version than 3.1.6, be aware that some of the specific information on the web site's documentation may not apply to your version, but most of the general stuff will. In the left menu column on the web site, you'll find a lot of useful information under the heading "General". The sections "Configuration", "Running ht://Dig", and "FAQ" will likely be most useful to you. Read through these carefully to get an understanding of how ht://Dig works, and how to solve most of the common problems. On most installations, running "rundig" will reindex the site from scratch once properly configured. Under "Reference", you'll also find details on all programs in the ht://Dig suite, as well as descriptions of all configuration file attributes available. -- Gilles R.
