For the simpler cases, you can make use of noindex_start and noindex_end
attributes to single out sections to strip out from the indexing, or use
<noindex> ... </noindex>, as described in http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q4.15

For more elaborate manipulations, you can pre-process the HTML code before
indexing, as in http://www.htdig.org/files/contrib/parsers/unhypermail.sh
or http://www.htdig.org/files/contrib/scripts/ungeoify.sh
