Yes, the problem is the new version.  The database structure was 
changed to allow phrase searching, and is in severe need of 
optimising.  I see this as a high priority.

If you don't need the new features of 3.2, it might be best to move 
back to 3.1.6 (or give users the choice of which to use) until we can 
fix the performance problem.
