Now I can't reproduce it again but the problem seemed to be that the
actual configure variables were touched and a 'NONE' prefix was
introduced if you did not specify them with the configure option (that
is to say the 'default' values).

If I used 'configure' with no other options, the problem was raised;
with the prefix, some of them disappeared; as I told you, I did not have
much time to play with them and fix them properly (that's why I just
commented them out).

If I can, I will try and reproduce them. However now it should not be a
problem if you want to try a bit; just use autoreconf.
