What version of htdig are you running? This sounds like a problem that was resolved years ago, with the WORDS string getting mangled. The current stable release is 3.1.5. If you're running an older release, you should upgrade. If the problem is the "and" and "or" operators that are added to the LOGICAL_WORDS variable, as opposed to WORDS, then that's a different matter. The only way to address these is to patch the htsearch code. We plan eventually to make this configurable, but have been short on volunteer manpower lately. -- Gilles R.
