The mailing list exists for a reason. See the FAQ about this: <http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q1.4> URLs that have "bad characters" in them must be hex-encoded. For example a space works out to %20 (ASCII #32). Quoting URLs will just get them rejected since this is not correct syntax.
