Yes. Of course it may have it's own set of errors... But for one, it
doesn't need to sort the wordlist, so the problems from that are
irrelevant.

No. In most cases, you can expect to see on the same order or perhaps even
smaller databases.

This is a debatable point. I don't have a whole lot of reliable
performance comparisons. Most people seem to experience a slowdown on
indexing, offset with a speedup on searching.

Performance comparisons, with database sizes, hardware specs and reliable
timing would greatly help. (For example, if some people see major 
slowdowns on indexing because there are RAM problems, that's a different
fix from changes to the algorithm.)
