Suit yourself, but we may not get around to fixing the errors you've
encountered if you don't report the details on them. The developers
only have access to a limited set of test systems, so we rely on beta
testers to give us feedback from other systems in order to make the code
more stable. That's why 3.2 is in beta right now. One known problem on
Solaris is the shared library support, which for some reason doesn't seem
to work well with C++ classes (objects aren't properly initialized).
We usually recommend the --disable-shared option on ./configure for
non-Linux systems. If you still have runtime errors after that, please
give us specifics, stack backtraces, and anything else that might help
us nail down some bugs. If you'd rather just wait and see, that's your
prerogative, but the more people who do this, the longer it takes to
get the code stable.
