You can't have a space between the comma and "radio". The type value must
be tacked right on to the first element in the list, i.e. the template
variable name. Otherwise, you have 9 elements in your list above, not 8.
Note also that the type specifier on element one is an extension to the
build_select_lists attribute that didn't exist when 3.1.5 was released.
It works in 3.2.0b3, but for 3.1.5 you need to apply this patch:
