My approach is similar but I don't have the edit config files ... (I only
index from scratch, updates are still to be played with 8-) ... I have
separate config files for htdig and htsearch. The two use different
database directories and at the end of a (good) dig, my script just
renames directories:
        old >> old-1; current >> old; new >> current
This also makes it easy to switch back to the previous week's database if
I find something went awry.
