Well, we don't have any other gifs to send. What you have in the source distribution is all we have. You're of course free to make up any gif page buttons you want, using the same style or a different style altogether. You can add them to the next_page_text, prev_page_text, page_number_text, and no_page_number_text attribute settings in your htdig.conf file (you don't need to change your Makefile or reinstall anything else, other than the image files, to do this). The developers had to draw the line somewhere, and 10 seems like a reasonable point to do so. The more buttons you add, the more work it is to make all the images and maintain the page_number_text and no_page_number_text attributes, not to mention the extra time it takes to load all the image files whenever you do a search. Most search engines that give links to more than 10 pages of results use text links, rather than graphics, or do like Google which uses the same image file (a fancy letter "o" in Goooooooooogle) with the page number underneath it. -- Gilles R.
