As long as the configuration -directory- is the same, you can use configuration files with different names. Just pass the config variable to htsearch from the search form.
<input type="hidden" name="config" value="htdig1">
would cause htsearch to use "htdig1.conf".
Is this what you are asking, or am I missing something?

Subject: [htdig] multiple configurations
Does anyone currently run dig with multiple configs? I have one web server
with several virtual servers and want to customize the output for each
domain. I know I have to point htsearch to different config files. Do I
need to compile a seperate instance of dig for each different config file.
My guess is yes because the location of the config file has to be built into
the htsearch binary. Is this the case?
Thanks in advance,
brendan
