Title: RE: [htdig] doc2html.pl and word2x

That worked!  Thank you very much :)  I have to test it during a dig, but I get the right output from doc2html now, so it should be good.

This is the word2x home page:

http://word2x.alcom.co.uk/

It is GPLed.  I just downloaded it and compiled it for cygwin.

Note that to get output to stdout you need to do

word2x filename.doc \-

or else you'll get a text file by default, filename.txt.

I haven't tested very many Word documents with it yet, so I can't totally sing its praises (yet).  I'll know after the first dig with it.

Thanks again!

Doc2html.pl requires a minimum of two parameters to work, it must have the MIME-type.

Try:

$ /usr/local/bin/doc2html.pl //c/air31.doc application/msword

Can you tell us a bit more about word2x?  What platforms will it run on, and where can one get it?
I would like to include support for it in the next version of doc2html.
