If you run htdig -vvv, it will show some progress as it downloads a
file. But if you're connecting over a modem at 19200bps, it's going to
take a fair amount of time to download a 4.9MB pdf file! The indexing
cannot occur until the document is downloaded--so nothing will change with
the databases.
