Yes, the scripts are for two different versions.  The first one is the
contributed example script, rundig.sh, which in 3.2.0b3's source, and
in the files/contrib/scripts section of the web site, are still scripts
for the 3.1.5 or earlier versions.  The second script you attached is
the standard rundig script that's installed with 3.2.0b3, but it doesn't
do updates.  What you need is the rundig.sh script that was adapted to
3.2 code, which you can get as the contrib/examples/rundig.sh script in
the latest development snapshot:
