Should I consider ./configure to be somewhat problematic with 3.1.5?

"make install" generally seemed to work pretty well, but I would think
the --with-image-url-prefix  directive would mean that the .html files in
the
/common directory  would have references to star.gif preceeded by
/fsl/srch/img.  Also, the install wanted the documentation to always
go to /www/opt. --with-info-dir seems to be ignored.
Am I in error?  Everything compiles w/o a hitch.
