If the meta tags are of the form <meta name="keywords" content="blah">
you can get rid of them by removing the word "keywords" from the
definition of keywords_meta_tag_names, e.g. by adding this to htdig.conf:

keywords_meta_tag_names: 

and then reindexing.  This won't help if the tags are of the form
<meta keywords="blah">
