There are two ways.

One is to create a separate htdig database for each site, each with its own
.conf file. Each config file specifies a different database name. You can
have a separate web form for each database with the name of the config file
given by a hidden option, or a combined form where the user is able to
select the name of the config file, and hence the database to be searched.

The second way is to create a single, large htdig database covering all the
sites. The "restrict" option in the web form can then be used to select a
subset of the indexed pages. This method is superior if you are want to
offer the ability to search over more than one site at once. It also makes
administration rather easier, as you only have one database to keep
up-to-date.
