I have
compiled the 3.2.0b4-092301 and I am still getting the similar
message. I think the problem is that I just don't have all the
configuration variables in the file that it is looking for.
What
should
doc_db and
doc_index say in order to take databases
from /unix,/perl/, and /users and create a combined database of
/htdig? What other configuration variables/cmd line arguments is it
looking for that I'm probably not providing?

This is a bug in the config parser in 3.2.0b3. Try the current snapshot
of
3.2.0b4:
