According to Alexander I. Lebedev:

Well, this was a project that quickly snowballed out of control! I fairly
quickly reviewed your changes and adopted most of them (a few of them I
left out because I thought they were appropriate in their original forms).
That was the easy part, but in the process of doing that, one thing
led to another and I uncovered all sorts of ridiculously inappropriate
endings expansions. I spent several hours last Friday fixing things,
and an hour or so yesterday and today on more. I'm not done yet, but I
need to put this aside because other projects are breathing down my neck.

So, I committed to CVS (htdig-3-1-x branch) what I did so far (diffs
below), and I'm also including a list of 3-letter words that still have
inappropriate suffixes (I've done A-K so far). There are probably some
4 or more letter words that need to be checked out too, but I think
the 3-letter ones will take care of the bulk of the nonsensical ones.
I've always tried to add in appropriate definitions, if needed, for words
that are taken out when I remove a suffix, so we don't lose any valid
words. Often there were redundant and incorrect expansions, such as "din"
expanding into various conjugations of "dine" which were already defined.
That seemed to be the most common sort of error, and there are still
many such errors in the L-Z section. Here's what still needs work...
