Hi again
I installed the snapshot for 3.2.0b4 and ran htdig with -vvvv option here's an example of what I got --------------------- 111:113:111:http://dev-www.internal/search/htdig_show_issue_links.php?paper_ name=irish_independent&ca=9&si=380568&issue_id=4157&start=111: Making HTTP request on http://dev-www.internal/search/htdig_show_issue_links.php?paper_name=blah&ca =9&si=380568&issue_id=4157&start=111 Header line: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Header line: Date: Mon, 08 Oct 2001 11:45:44 GMT Header line: Server: Apache/1.3.19 (Unix) PHP/4.0.4pl1 Header line: X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.4pl1 Discarded header line: X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.4pl1 Header line: Last-Modified: Wed, 26 Sep 2001 12:32:13 GMT Header line: Transfer-Encoding: chunked Header line: Content-Type: text/html Retrieving document /search/htdig_show_issue_links.php?paper_name=blah&ca=9&si=380568&issue_id=4 157&start=111 on host: dev-www.internal:80 Http version : HTTP/1.1 Server : HTTP/1.1 Status Code : 200 Reason : OK Access Time : Thu, 01 Jan 1970 01:00:00 GMT Modification Time : Thu, 01 Jan 1970 01:00:00 GMT Content-type : text/html Transfer-encoding : chunked Request time: 0 secs Tag: html, matched -1 ----------------------- could you help - I can see that the Modification Time is not right but I don't know how to fix it thanks Sean According to Sean Downey: > Hi again > > I ran htdig with -vvv > and here is what I'm getting > > ------------------------------- > bash-2.04$ /usr/local/htdig-3.2.0b3/bin/htdig -vvv -s -a -c > /usr/local/htdig-3.2.0b3/conf/htdig.conf ... > I don't know if this is what I should get or not - there is nothing in there > that mentions the Last Modified header D'oh! In 3.1.x, 3 -v options was enough to get the headers displayed in the debugging output. In 3.2.x, this was inexplicably (and probably totally arbitrarily) increased to 4. Personally, I think this was a bad call, as the headers are often absolutely key in debugging all sorts of problems, often more so than a lot of other stuff that's relegated to level 4. In any case, you'll have to use -vvvv to see the headers, or better yet, use -vvvvvv (6 v's) to also see what htdig parses from the Last-Modified headers. Be ready to wade through LOTS of debugging output. I notice also that you're still running 3.2.0b3. I strongly recommend you try the latest snapshot of 3.2.0b4, as lots of bugs have been squashed since February, and maybe what you're seeing is a symtom of one of these now fixed bugs. And, as I said before... > If the problem persists with the latest snapshot, please > get back to us with details about the system you're running htdig on (OS, > distribution if applicable, hardware, etc.), as well as the settings in > include/htconfig.h for HAVE_TIMEGM and HAVE_STRPTIME. -- Gilles R.
