OK, first off it's impossible for me to know what version you're using. There are 3 released versions of 3.2.0 betas and there are weekly snapshots made of 3.2.0b4. My guess is you're using 3.2.0b3, so I'll suggest first trying the current 3.2.0b4 snapshot <http://www.htdig.org/files/snapshots/> I can attest that the current development snapshot works with gcc 3.0.x on Linux, but I haven't tried it on Solaris.
