Hi,

You might want to investigate the bad_querystr option.  For example, I
squash all but one view of indexes using this in the config file.  The
multiple views are squashed because even on filename may have up to seven
search results for the same directory index because of sorted this way and
that.

bad_querystr:           M=A M=D S=A S=D D=A D=D N=A N=D

However, I have not figured out how to fully squash the index views (just to
cut down on redundancy).  I would be curious about the answer to this
question.

Also, remember that from htdig's point of view, an index page is just
another HTML page.  There really is nothing special about it.

The config line above will cut down dramatically on the number of such
search results which are redundant by eliminating the sorted versions.
