Glad to oblige. You are wrong. See http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q4.10 The only caution is that on some systems, where locale support isn't properly set up or there are implementation bugs, htdig won't recognize the accented characters. The majority of systems don't have these problems, but unfortunately some systems still do. I would also recommend running the 3.1.6 snapshot from http://www.htdig.org/files/snapshots/, as it fixes a few problems htmerge had in handling accented characters on some systems, and it adds two new config attributes (boolean_keywords and boolean_syntax_errors) to allow completely customising htsearch for other languages. -- Gilles R.
