I use MHonarc (www.mhonarc.org) to HTMLize an archive of a local usenet
hierarchy. For providing an search engine I use htdig.
That works for just searching for an keyword which occurs _anywhere_ in
the text. But is it possible to create an search form to search only for
postings from one author ("From: Wolfgang Dautermann
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>") or an special subject (or both) or something
similar? (something like http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search)

Mhonarc creates some additional informations as HTML-comments in the
HTML-source, look for example in the source of
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg00043.html
But can htdig use these informations? Or does anyone know another - free -
search engine which provides such a feature?
