You have two options the way I see it -


1) - easy -  go into (or create if it doesn't already exist) 
/opt/www/htdig/conf and create a symbolic link to the file you want it to read
In linux/unix this command would be "ln -s 
/path/to/config/file/you/want/to/use 
name/of/config/file/with/conf/extension/attached"

2) - harder -  recompile the entire htdig program -
htdig wants to use /opt/www for it's default paths and will do this unless 
you instruct it differently -
after running the "./configure" utility - look for a file called "CONFIG" - 
and then go in there and edit the directories where you want
things to go.  Don't run ./configure again or it will screw up your 
changes. Just run "make" and "make install"
