First, I'd suggest sending messages to the htdig-general mailing list exclusively. <http://www.htdig.org/FAQ.html#q1.16> It's much more likely to be answered since it's otherwise going to end up at the bottom of my inbox.
At the moment, XML documents will tend to be indexed as plain text documents. I say "tend" since the webserver would need to send out a text/ MIME type for the document. So you may indeed want to have an external parser or external converter to deal with your XML documents. Of course if the XML is simply XHTML, you can have the server send out the document as text/html and everything will continue as normal. -- -Geoff Hutchison Williams Students Online http://wso.williams.edu/ On Monday, March 11, 2002, at 04:39 PM, FattyBoomBatty.com wrote: > Hello, > > Michael here again with fattyboombatty.com just a quick question about > HTdig, we are thinking of converting some portions of our network into > xml. > Will ht dig still index and pick up these pages as is or will we need > to add > some sort of special parser or tags to the page, could we just add a > keyword > tag in the code with words we wanted that page to be picked up on.
