Maybe this will save some other newbie some time... I went through all the usual steps a newbie goes through to get accented matching to work. I built my database using rundig, then I set my locale when I discovered it was wrong. I got to a point where I could enter licenziosit and get the proper search term (licenziosita or licenziosit), but the reverse didn't work; entering licenziosita got me no matches because it was only looking for that word.
Finally, when searching the archives one more time before posting, I found a post in the thread about the accent patch for 3.1.5 which mentioned running "htfuzzy -vv accents" and seeing that the words were all being truncated. I ran this to check and saw that mine were not being truncated. But now my search works both ways! So, moral of the story - something I changed meant that htfuzzy needed to be rerun, but the rundig script wasn't rerunning it. Maybe this should be added to the FAQ about locale? janine -- Janine Sisk President/CEO furfly.net, LLC Mont Vernon, NH Phone: 603-672-1122 _______________________________________________ htdig-general mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, send a message to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with a subject of unsubscribe FAQ: http://htdig.sourceforge.net/FAQ.html
